Free Printable Hanukkah Cards, Dreidel, Menorah, Crafts

Hanukkah, also spelled Chanukah, is the Jewish "festival of light." It commemorates when G-d kept the lights in the temple burning during the revolt of Judas Maccabeus. It's celebrated on the 25th of Kislev on the Hebrew lunar calendar. On the western calendar Hanukkah falls near Christmas. Here are free printable Hanukkah crafts: dreidel, gelt, menorah, treats, decorations. Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days beginning at sundown. She draws these whimsical little creatures, writes stories about them and then creates nifty crafts to go with them. AND she puts a lot of them on her blog for you to print free. Marilyn is awesome like that. And she makes printable cards for many holidays, even less popular ones--pagan holidays, Diwali, Cinco de Mayo, Chinese New Year, Jewish festivals. Rosh HaShanah is the Jewish New Year and will be celebrated on September 4, 2013. It precedes Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, in the Jewish Tishreh. Rosh HaShanah is the first of the two Jewish high holy days, called, the Days of Awe. Yom Kippur is the most holy day of the Jewish year. The sacredness of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur are roughly equivalent to the importance of Easter in the Christian Gregorian calendar. Rosh Hashanah falls in Tishri on the Hebrew calendar. On the western calendar, Rosh Hashahah is observed on September 17-18, 2012. In 2012, Passover will be celebrated beginning at sundown Saturday, April 6 and lasting through Friday, April 14. On the Hebrew lunisolar calendar (which is based on both moon phases and solar cycles), Passover is celebrated on Nissan 15-22.
